Telecommunications
Situation
A
global information technology and telecommunications corporation
had identified network health as a key to customer satisfaction.
Network health included capacity, uptime, scalability and speed.
A
growing customer base had increased network traffic demands,
taxing the company's infrastructure.
Opportunity
This
telecommunications client identified the need to insure full
staffing levels on their network development teams. On a weekly
basis new project members were planned to be added to the development
teams.
Solution
Synerfac
is providing contract Software Engineers, Programmers and Developers
for network programming and development efforts. Synerfac contractors
are busy building new UNIX network functionality at the socket
level. They are working on the protocol stack coding in C++
and Java.
The
client has also contracted Synerfac to develop their Web and
application servers. Synerfac programmers contribute to the
development of new Java Servlet application program interfaces
(API).

IT
Consulting Services
Situation
A
Fortune 50 information technology consultancy needed to rapidly
augment its staff to fulfill existing project commitments and
successfully implement new projects.
Aware
of this market activity, Synerfac contacted the regional Practice
Director to discuss our ability to provide supplemental staffing
for current and soon to be awarded projects.
Opportunity
This
consulting company could not borrow consultants from other its
other regional offices because of the additional T&E expenses.
These expenses were not originally budgeted in the project proposals.
Internal recruiting efforts were not producing satisfactory
results. This company needed to outsource its recruiting/staffing
function to meet staffing projections and project deadlines.
Solution
Synerfac
was awarded the contract to staff this regional branch with
Project Managers, Programmers and Developers. Our staffing efforts
enabled this client to meet critical project deadlines, take
on larger projects successfully and respond quicker to client
requests.

Automotive Manufacturing
Situation
A
big three automotive manufacturer endorsed an initiative to
implement SAS corporation wide to enhance product quality and
reduce defects. Specifically, this manufacturer planned on using
SAS for the following:
- Correlate
warranty claims to production operations
- Statistically
determine manufacturing variables
- Isolate
manufacturing processes statistically significant in reduction
of product defects
- Statistical
Process Controls
Opportunity
In
order to support the corporate initiative, the manufacturer
decided to implement two SAS programmers in the Delaware assembly
plant to specify the project parameters, write code, test, implement
and train.
Solution
Synerfac
was contacted in addition to other primary approved vendors
including The SAS Institute. The manufacturer selected two SAS
consultants through Synerfac to staff the project.
Manufacturing
data was pulled from the mainframe to a local UNIX box to create
a data ware mart. Synerfac programmers created the front-end
interfaces tying into the SAS engine for data mining and correlation.
Due
to the success of the project, Synerfac contractors have also
implemented a very successful SAS web-based SPC system to capture
and analyze measurement data from the plant floor, which is
also being implemented at other truck plants.
This
project successfully increased product quality and reduced warranty
defects due to manufacturing variances. Synerfac has an ongoing
SAS partnership for continuous product improvement.
